For that one event, Jeff Gordon's no. 24 DuPont Automotive Finishes Chevrolet reprised the popular "rainbow" paint scheme that was used during the drivers meteoric rise to the pinnacle of stock car racing. Sam originally designed the scheme more than a decade ago. To commemorate its one-race return, he has offered a limited edition print entitled "Smokin Hot!" The centerpiece for this beautiful artwork is a portrait of Gordon - as seen through the smoky haze of a celebratory burnout - complemented by two images of the retro rainbow car and behind Gordon's portrait, an image of the original 1993 car. Gordon first ran the "rainbow" car during his 1993 NASCAR(tm) Rookie-of-the-Year campaign. The color scheme was retired and updated with the fire-and-flames design (also one of Sam's creations) at the end of the 2000 season - but not before Gordon had driven it to 52 victories, 33 poles and three of his four championships.
